WTAMU Graduate Student to Receive Texas Outdoor Writer’s Scholarship

CANYON, Texas—Jessie Story, a graduate student in communication at West Texas A&M University, has been named the recipient of the Dan Klepper Memorial Scholarship from the Texas Outdoor Writer’s Association (TOWA). Story will be recognized at the association’s annual conference Feb. 25-28 in Kerrville.

The Dan Klepper Memorial Scholarship is for Texas students who are pursuing a career in the field of communication related to the outdoors, environmental conservation or wildlife management and conservation. The $2,000 scholarship honors the memory of Klepper, who was an outdoor writer for the San Antonio Express-News and one of the founders of the Texas Outdoor Writers Association.
